WELCOME TO UNACC: A CHAMPION FOR CLEAN COOKING IN UGANDA
The Uganda National Alliance on Clean Cooking (UNACC) is a non-profit organization established in 2013 to address the pressing issue of clean cooking in Uganda. UNACC brings together a diverse coalition of stakeholders, including private companies, associations, and individuals, to promote the adoption and utilization of clean cooking technologies and practices.
WHY CLEAN COOKING MATTERS
Traditional cooking methods, such as cooking over open fires, are a major source of health problems in Uganda. These methods produce harmful pollutants that can cause respiratory problems, heart disease, and other health problems. They also contribute to deforestation and climate change.
Clean cooking, on the other hand, is the use of cooking technologies that do not produce harmful pollutants. These technologies include improved cookstoves, biogas stoves, and solar cookers.
UNACC MANDATES
Raising Awareness through Clean Cooking Exhibitions
UNACC gathers, analyzes, and shares essential information on clean cooking technologies, policies, and best practices. By organizing exhibitions and holding live demonstrations of clean cooking technologies and fuels, UNACC raises awareness and engages communities, empowering them to adopt sustainable, health-focused energy solutions.
Standardization & Capacity Building
UNACC supports the development and enforcement of clean cooking standards. UNACC also provides training and support to its members to enhance their organizational, technical, and financial management skills.
Policy Advocacy & Resource Mobilization
UNACC engages with policymakers and stakeholders to promote policies that encourage the adoption and scaling up of clean cooking solutions. UNACC also secures financial resources for its activities and the clean cooking sector.
Partnership & Networking
UNACC actively fosters collaborations with local and international organizations to expand its reach, share expertise, and amplify its impact.

UNACC AT REC24&EXPO
At the 2024 Renewable Energy Conference & Expo (REC), UNACC played a central role in advancing clean cooking solutions and raising awareness of sustainable energy alternatives. Through engaging panel discussions and demonstrations, UNACC showcased various clean cooking technologies and emphasized the critical need for national standards to ensure safe, reliable products.
